Authors Note: There's a portrait hanging in the Chancellory of our State uni. It's a portrait of a ten year old boy. The plaque next to it reads:
"In memory of _______. The last orphan to be used in medical training."
I didn't grasp the full meaning of "medical training" until someone told me.
They used to gas orphans when there were not enough cadaviers for the medical students to practice on. Yes, they killed these kids specifically to be cut up. That was less than eighty years ago...
